100 Days of Gratitude: Day 51

why-you-need-to-take-time-out-feet

For the last 2 days I’ve been locked away in a user group conference and because it starts early, I’ve had to do everything about an hour earlier than usual and i’ve finished later than usual which means I’ve barely seen daylight.

It’s almost like being back in england! getting up in the dark, going to the gym in the dark, going to work in the dark, inside all day, grey outside all day, going home in the dark…

ugh…

the other issue of course was food. Yes there was food provided – morning tea: cakes, pastries and lollies…

not exactly my kind of food

lunch was provided…

party pies, sandwiches, more pastries and fruit

hmm…

Fortunately the conference was near the corner of William and Bourke and its my old sotmping ground from when I worked at CGU and tucked away behind 500 Bourke not only is there a cute little sheltered courtyard with trees to sit under, but there is also a very good little food place that does gluten free, organic, real food salads! Steamed broccoli with sumac and toasted slivered almonds for morning tea

fresh boiled egg, green bean, raw zucchini, raw snow pea, mint salad with lemon vinaigrette for lunch

chicken and quinoa salad with capsicum, smashed hazelnuts and peas for lunch today.

and since it was a lovely day, I took the opportunity to take a quiet a moment – outside, near the trees, in the sun watching the world rush by me.

It was lovely.

Very grateful for sheltered little courtyards with real food cafe’s tucked away behind the towering busy busy city where one can take a tiny moment to step away from the hustle and bustle and see daylight.
